Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to some of the questions people most often ask me. If you can’t find an answer to your question here, please send me a message and I’ll be happy to help.

  • No referral is required.

  • Please schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation with me. My calendar is available on the website. If you would like to proceed with a formal consultation, I will make the appointment at that time.

  • Yes, consultations may be done in person or via a telehealth appointment as long as you reside in the state of Utah.

  • I will review your health history and lifestyle habits. I will review any recent laboratory work performed, and I may make additional recommendations for blood work and recommendations for integrative medicine therapies. If blood work is requested, I will make a follow-up appointment to review. Individual follow-up appointments are available anytime.

  • I allow 90 minutes for consultations and 45 minutes for follow-ups.  Acupressure sessions are 60 minutes. Shared medical appointments are 90 minutes.

  • I accept most major insurances. If I am not credentialed with your insurance provider, I do offer a discounted cash price.

  • No, you will need an individual consultation first before starting the shared medical appointments.

  • Generally, no, except for weight-loss medications. I provide guidance on supplements and botanicals for conditions, but do not prescribe medication for acute or chronic conditions.

  • Yes, I have a contract with a compounding pharmacy to obtain this medication. Right now, most insurances will not cover these medications, but many individuals are able to cover the cost through funds from a health savings or flexible spending account.

  • Integrative medicine is for everyone interested in long-term health. Integrative medicine offers more options for people who may have pain, gut issues, stress, or fatigue. It can be particularly helpful for those who are going through cancer treatment and cancer survivors. Integrative medicine also expands options for women's health, mental health, and trauma survivors.
